If Bawumia Can Campaign In Senior High Schools, Why Cant I? - Dumelo Quizzes

Actor John Dumelo has begged to differ on the concerns raised by the National Youth Organiser for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku that he (Dumelo) is engaging in political campaign on campuses of some Senior High Schools across the country.

The effervescent youth organizer of the main opposition party insists the latter is in breach of regulation as regards political activities in Senior Secondary Schools.

The actor, the youth organizer said, has been engaging in some talk-shows in selected senior high schools under the guise of a peace ambassador but in clandestinely campaigning for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

This latest move by the actor adds to his visible involvement in the activities of the ruling party as some members of the public late last month spotted him placing billboards and banners at vantage points in the Kumasi Metropolis.

Mr Dumelo, according to the NPP youth organizer, has now stepped up his game and is now wooing students in second cycle schools into voting for the NDC flagbearer, an action he decried as shameful and irresponsible.

But reacting to the issue on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, John Dumelo denied the allegations raised by Sammy Awuku, saying that he has never campaigned on the campuses of the Senior High Schools except to preach peace ahead of the 2016 elections.

He however admitted that he only campaigns on the streets after his peace tour on campuses.

The renowned actor therefore quizzed Sammy Awuku that “if Bwumia can campaign in Senior High Schools, why can’t I”?

He added that though he has not been campaigning in secondary schools, Sammy Awuku has no moral right to criticise him because his (Awuku’s) Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has been engaging students from the pre-tertiary level.
