Daily Graphic Reporter Appears Before Privileges Committee of Parliament

Daily Graphic Reporter, Mark Anthony Vinorkor whose accreditation for reporting from Parliament was withdrawn by Parliament for publishing contemptuous stories about the House, on Tuesday rendered an unqualified apology to Parliament when he appeared before the Privileges Committee of the House.

Mr Kenneth Ashigbey, Managing Director of Graphic Communications Group Ltd and Mr Yaw Buadu Ayeh Boafo, Director of News Papers of the company who accompanied Mark Anthony Vinorkor to the committee also rendered an apology to the house for the publication on behalf of the company.

Mark Anthony Vinorkor expressed deep regret for the stories he wrote about the Constitutional (Amendment ) Bill 2016 which had then been laid before the house for consideration.

He said he did not intend to injure the reputation of the House by the publication.

Chairman of the Privileges Committee and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Ebo Barton-Odro said following the apology by Mark Anthony Vinorkor and Management of Graphic Communication Group Ltd the Committee had nothing more to say and will submit its report to the house for a final decision to be taken on the matter.
