A former President of Malawi, Mrs. Joyce Banda has said that judging from the humility, selflessness and honesty the late Professor John Atta Mills exhibited during his life-time, especially during his tenure as President of Ghana, it is right to conclude that he was anointed by God, to serve mankind.
She therefore called on political leaders in Africa to wake up and embrace the new world order where power lies more with the people than with the leader.
Mrs. Joyce Banda was delivering a lectures at the university of Cape Coast, on Monday to mark the 4thAtta Mills Commemorative Lectures. She described the late president as a man who understood what “being a president” was all about, describing him as one who ruled with zeal and determination.
According to Mrs. Banda, president Mills was one who drew a parallel between spirituality and leadership and cited several examples to that effect during her interaction with.
“Even in President Mills’ death, he remains an “Oasis of knowledge,” she pointed out.
