Coach Tetteh wary of Korean threat

Black Satellites coach, Sellas Tetteh, said he was extremely wary of the threat of the Korea Republic to Ghanas ambitions at the FIFA-U World Cup quarterfinals tie at the Mubarack Stadium in Sues on Friday. He, however, said the Satellites was determined to advance to the next stage of the competition. Coach Tetteh told GNA Sports at Suez on Thursday that meeting a team that gets better as tournament progresses is always risky because that's always a very tough prospect. The coach said he respected the Korean threat and had a deep admiration for the Asians who forced to pundits to eat back their words by thumbing Paraguay 3-0 at the round of 16. They play beautiful; entertaining football which is fast and furious. We are determined and we will play cautiously to advance" he said. Ghana has made it to the last eight in all five of their U-20 campaigns, while Korea Republic has been here on three previous occasions. Ironically, the South Koreans first defeat against an African side in this tournament, was a 2-0 against Cameroon in their opening match and against Ghana, and coach Tetteh said they have their work cut out. While the South Koreans comfortably dispatched Paraguay 3-0 in Cairo, the Satellites needed extra time to make it through against South Africa and Coach Tetteh believed his team had enough experience to handle any opposition at this level. Ghana is unbeaten against Asian opposition at the FIFA U-20 World Cup where the Satellites had won five of their six encounters with AFC sides, beating United Arab Emirates, Japan, Kazakhstan, Iran and Uzbekistan, and drawing only the first match, played in 1997 against China PR.
