Herbert Mensah, a former Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and a card-bearing member of the National Democratic Congress, NDC whose antecedents are in conflict with the historical values of the NDC is bracing himself for chairmanship of the party. This has set tongues wagging within the NDC as to the real intention of Herbert Mensah to annex the chairmanship belt. After the December 31st insurrection of the PNDC, Mr. B. A Mensah, the father of Herbert Mensah was one of the firm casualties. His assets were confiscated and he went into exile. He later became a member of the Council of State but the hypocrisy and the lukewarm attitude of the Kufuor administration to disconfiscate his earlier seized assets fell them apart. Prominent members within the party are absurd about Mr. Mensah�s recent ambition which some tend it very dangerous for the party. Herbert Mensah has a chaquered football administration history in this country. First he was Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club when he faltered. From there he chaired King Faisal where he flawed. From RTU, he finally ended at Ashgold on a five-year contract where again he faulted and entered into oblivion.
