Taxies and other commercial vehicles which run on gas were off the road on Friday, a situation which also brought market and other commercial activities to a standstill.
The various filling stations displayed the large sign posts bearing the inscription, ‘No Gas’, on their premises.
A few of the taxi drivers travelled to Dzodze to purchase gas during the weekend.
As at Saturday, most commuters to various social programmes in the regional capital were left with no other option than to walk, as there were no taxies on the streets.
Most of the stations contacted said that they had no clue as to when they would be supplied with gas.
