Robbers Kill Businessman

Residents of Buipe in the Central Gonja District of the Northern Region now live in fear due to the killing of a businessman in the area by some armed robbers.

Adamu Bisah Bidor, 35, was shot dead by suspected armed robbers at Buipe at about 5am on Monday.

Information gathered by DAILY GUIDE indicated that the incident happened when the businessman travelled to the area to purchase cattle at Buipe.

The armed robbers attacked Mr Bidor and other traders who were resting in a kiosk near the Tamale-Kintampo Highway.

They took away some valuables and a bag containing unspecified amount of money belonging to the businessman.

An eyewitness, who narrated the incident to DAILY GUIDE, said the deceased struggled with one of the armed robbers which angered them, causing one of them to shoot him three times in the chest.

“When the armed robbers attacked us, they ordered us to bring out everything we had but the man attacked one of the armed robbers, then suddenly another one shot him three times killing him instantly.

When DAILY GUIDE contacted the District Police Commander DSP Kingsley Owusu Antwi, he confirmed incident and said some police personnel had been dispatched to the area.

According to him, the police would investigate the matter thoroughly and appealed to the people in the area to volunteer information to the police to help arrest the suspects.

The body of the businessman has since been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue pending autopsy.
