Referee Joseph Lamptey Among Officials For First Batch Of Matches At Rio 2016

Ghana’s referee Joseph Lamptey, has been appointed by Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), as the fourth referee for the match involving Sweden and Columbia at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

The Group B opener, which is slated for the Amazonia Arena Stadium, will see all three referees from Saudi Arabia, with Fahad Al Mirdasi in the centre to handle affairs, as Abdulah Alshalwai and Mohammed Al Abakry, will be the assistant referees one and two respectively.

The match which will be played on Thursday 4th August, 2016, will see referee Lamptey as one of the officials appointed for the first eight games for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games before the official opening ceremony on Friday 5th august, 2016.
