Team Ghana might have not been exciting so far at the Rio 2016 Olympics, but there is one man fighting to raise the flag of Ghana high though not part of team Ghana’s contingent.

Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) referee Joseph Lamptey will be in action again on Saturday at the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympic Games, where he has been appointed as the fourth official in the men’s football quarter final game between Korea Republic and Honduras at the Mineirao Stadium in Belo Horizonte.

Egyptian referee Grisha Ghead will be the center man for the game with support coming from Achik Redouane (Morocco) and Ahmed Waleed (Sudan) as assistant one and two respectively.

This will be Lamptey’s third game in the ongoing global festival in Brazil following his first appointment as the fourth official in the group B opener involving Sweden and Columbia. He is one of the few officials appointed for the first eight games before the opening ceremony of the events.

Meanwhile the hardworking Lamptey has also been appointed as the center referee for the CAF 2017 Africa Cup Of Nations final qualifier between Cameroun and Zambia on September 3 in Yaoundé.

Fellow countrymen David Laryea (assistant 1), Salifu Malik (assistant 2) and Hamidu Seidu Bomison (fourth referee) will all the provide support he needs.
