Tears Flow For Exopa Model

Twenty-four-year-old Ghanaian model, Belinda Akosua Asiamah, who died last Friday allegedly complained about stomach ache before she unfortunately passed on.

The exact ailment that caused her demise, however, remains unknown.

The news of her sadden death came as a shock to many Ghanaian entertainment stakeholders who knew her and never heard of her being sick.

“Sad sad sad…She was a bundle of potentials waiting to explode. May her soul find rest…,” Movie Director Pascal Amanfo said.

“Saddest news ever” was also a comment from Yvonne Nelson’s YN Production handle on Instagram after posting Belinda’s photo from the scene of the movie titled ‘If Tomorrow Never Comes’.

A number of other entertainers also took to social media to pay tribute to the young model, actress and video vixen.

Belinda’s death adds to the disturbing number of Ghanaian entertainers who have passed this year, following revelations by a man of God that a lot of entertainment personalities will die within 2016.

She is the second Ghanaian model to have died this year.

Until her untimely death, Belinda as she is called, was a rising star. She started gaining prominence in Ghana’s entertainment industry with her works.

She started gaining spotlight from a modeling talent show by the Exopa Modeling Agency dubbed Exopa New Faces, where she became a first runner-up at the runway event.

She was subsequently featured on other major runway events.
“I try to ignore the fact that I’m a short model and do my thing. I don’t care what people do to draw me back,” she told NEWS-ONE’s Francis Addo in July 2013 after the contest in June 2013.

Later, she was featured in Guru’s ‘Boys Abr3’ video and also Obrafour’s ‘Pimpinaa’ video.

In 2015, she was also featured in Yvonne Nelson’s award-winning movie, ‘If Tomorrow Never Comes’, playing one of the unusual scenes in the movie.

Akosua as she is sometimes called by her friends comes from Akuapim Adukrom and the last of two siblings. She attended the Akim State College.

She wanted to be a nurse, but she also loves modelling, the reason she came into showbiz.  She actually started modelling from school when she took part in the Face of Akim State College, which she eventually won.

Hence, she decided to enter into the modelling industry after school. But, she unfortunately didn’t leave long enough to enjoy her young career. From Belinda’s posts on Instagram, she is a God-fearing lady.
