CIMG Launches Annual National Marketing Performance Awards

National President of Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), Mr. Kojo Mattah at the launch of the 27th CIMG Annual National Marketing Performance Awards for 2015 has revealed that the awards will be held under the theme “Democracy and National Cohesion; Marketing A New Political Paradigm”.

According to him, this is in recognition of the fact that the marketing profession as a discipline traverses almost all human endeavours.

Speaking from Golden Tulip Hotel, Mr Kojo Mattah hinted that it is the aim and part of the institute’s vision to bring professionalism to bear on practitioners and society through robust advocacy.

“In that vein, and in order to give meaning to this vision, we have carefully chosen a theme that touches on our present and future engagements as a profession with corporate Ghana.
Consequently, the 2015 CIMG Annual National Marketing Performance Awards will be held under the theme: Democracy and National Cohesion; Marketing A New Political Paradigm”.

He stressed that though, Ghana has conducted itself to the admiration of most people in terms of democratic governance and also prides itself to be a peaceful country within the sub-region, and Ghanaians cannot say the forces of division that spread misunderstanding and cause upheavals are not among the citizens.

“Recent utterances among the political class and social commentators are clear signals of recklessness that may lead us into conflict if not checked. Nobody would be immune from the effects of conflict. It will affect everybody, even if not directly. No business be carried out in an atmosphere of chaos”, he asserted.

He pointed out that there is the need to work at keeping the peace the country is enjoying and collectively guard against any actions or inactions that have the tendency of disturbing the peace of the country.

“As we approach our election date this year, the CIMG thought it prudent to use the vibrant platform of the national marketing awards to champion the marketing of a new political paradigm which promotes peace before, during and after the election. The happenings in Burundi, South Sudan, Somalia, Central African Republic, and DR Congo were all election or political induced”, he indicated.

He however drew the attention of Ghanaians not to be oblivious to the happenings around the country; thus CIMG is marketing the idea and need for Ghanaians to re-orient themselves towards the promotion of a stable political atmosphere within which businesses and everyone would flourish.

“We shall continue to promote excellence in marketing and within corporate Ghana through the awards scheme and so on 10th September, 2016 CIMG will organize the 27 edition of the marketing performance awards at the Banquet Hall of the State House”, he revealed.

The Awards Planning and Selection Committee therefore hinted that the awards cover 7 major areas: Hall of Fame, Personalities, Media/MARCOMS organizations, Business Organizations, Product(s), Not-for-profit organizations and special category.

The Committee indicated that CIMG Hall of Fame companies must complete corporate diaries to justify their marketing activities and why they should be retained in the CIMG Hall of Fame.
