I have no interest in who becomes the GFA Boss - Nii Lante Vanderpuye

Youth and Sports Minister, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has revealed he has no interest in who becomes the Ghana Football Association (GFA) President in the Associations’ next elections.
 
The President for the GFA, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, was re-elected on a four  year mandate at an (Extraordinary) Congress which was held in Tamale on August 19,2015, but the current Sports Minister  admits he has no interest in whoever emerges as the winner of the GFA Presidency-Nyantakyi, who retained his seat as the West African Football Union president  this year has been heavily chastised by a section of the Ghanaian media for deliberately neglecting the Ghana Premier League to gain it needed patronage across the continent.

This comes after media reports claimed the Sports Minister is interested in who becomes the head of the Federations football hierarchy.

But the former GBC Sports Broadcaster insists he has no problem with Kwesi Nyantakyi and is ready work with him for the development of Ghana football.

Further reports have indicated Nii Lante Vanderpuye has vowed to help GFA Veep George Afriyie to explore ways of becoming the Federations President.

“I have no interest in who becomes the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA, my aim as a Sports Minister is to focus on other sports but not only football and make sure the right thing is done,” Nii Lante Vanderpuye exclusively told Accra-based Asempa FM.

“I have no problem with Mr. Nyantakyi: my ambition is to help develop Sports in Ghana after my tenure of office as the Sports Minister," he added.
