Ex Ghana Star Rev Osei Kofi Jabs Kwesi Nyantakyi Over GPL Decline

Ex-Ghana international Rev Osei Kofi, has heavily descended on Kwesi Nyantakyi led football Administration for total neglect and deliberately failing to improve the standards of the Ghana Premier League to produce quality players into the Black Stars.

Nyantakyi’s Administration for the past eleven years have been lambasted by majority of the Ghanaian media over lack of concentration on the local league and Ghanaian clubs inability to do well in  CAF Inter-club competitions.

The three time Nations Cup winner believes, the domestic league has been plagued by lack of competent personnel who lacks ideas in running modern day football.

The standards of the Ghana top-flight league has declined following the competitions inability to produce quality players into the Black Stars and attract sponsors as well.

However, many clubs in the domestic top-flight have threatened to pull out of the league following the clubs inability to finance their players.

But the ‘dribbling magician’ as he was affectionately called insists the current hierarchy of the Federation lacks the managerial competence to manage the game and attract sponsorship to shoot Ghana football to enviable height.

This was in relation to Avram Grant’s decision to ignore the locally-based players for the last hurdle of the AFCON qualifies despite the Black Stars securing qualification to AFCON 2017 in Ghana Gabon; which most soccer pundits believes it could have serve a good platform to showcase the talents within the Ghana Premier League.

“The hierarchy of the Ghana football Association is bankrupt; they are always interested in Black Stars winning bonuses and other incentives that will make them rich. They know nothing about football. If the GFA understands football they will look at the clauses in Avram Grant’s contract and task him to monitor the Ghana Premier League and also call him to order. The GFA are spectators of football not football Administrators, they don’t understand football,” Rev Osei Kofi told Takoradi-based Spice FM.

“ If the GFA don’t want to admit our domestic league is bad, then they should get in touch with the Black Stars Head Coach Avram Grant  to monitor the local league  and select them to the main stream Black Stars, “he added
