I Never Endorsed NDC Kwaku Manu

Kumawood actor, Kwaku Manu has denied rumours on social media and mainstream media that he has endorsed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its presidential candidate, President John Mahama.

Kwaku Manu is seen and heard in a widely circulated video on social media claiming that he supports the ‘umbrella party’.

In the same video, Kwaku Manu talks about the kind of abuse meted out to Ghanaian celebrities the moment they make it clear their political leanings or candidate they support.

And from there, he indicates that, he has chosen John Mahama and the NDC and hopes this does not mean people will stop buying his movies.

That video, Kwaku Manu insisted in an interview with adomonline.com is only a short version of a longer peace message.

He said he has never endorsed the NDC party or its presidential candidate.
According to him, persons with ‘mischievous minds’ have edited the video meant for his peace campaign and are using it for mischievous purposes.

“I have never endorsed President Mahama, what I have done is to tell Ghanaians that no matter the party we belong to, we are all one people so there is no need to fight over political leanings.

“The ones who edited the video only showed one part because I wore a T-shirt with both NDC and NPP logos, why did they not show the full video and instead showed the first portion where I talked about the NDC…?,” he queried.

Asked if he feels disturbed by the doctoring of his peace campaign video, Kwaku Manu said he was never disturbed as it is rather helping him promote his peace campaign further.
