The Accra Circuit Court has sentenced a member of a highway robbery gang to 18 years imprisonment for robbery.
Mohammed Abubakar, who appeared in court with clutches readily pleaded guilty to the charges of conspiracy to commit robbery.
He was sentenced on his own plea.
Two other alleged members of the gang, Osman Omaro and Abubakar Aliu, however pleaded not guilty and were remanded to appear before the court, presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh on September 9, 2016
The gang is said to have allegedly attacked a VIP bus at New Jejeti on the Accra -Kumasi Highway with AK 47 assault rifles on November 15, 2015.
