Dont Act Like Rev. Martey; A Judas & Sell Presby Church To NPP! New Moderator Cautioned

Kojo Twum Boafo has described the outgoing moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Emmanuel Martey in the persona of Judas Iscariot in the Bible.

Addressing the behaviour of Rev. Emmanuel Martey on 'Alhaji and Alhaji' on Radio Gold, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Kojo Twum Boafo told the host of the programme that Rev. Martey has mortgaged the entire Presby Church to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, the moderator has no shame being in bed with the NPP but has now proved beyond doubt that he's being influenced by the NPP.

Mr. Twum Boafo noted that his submission is informed by the moderator's acceptance of an amount of money from the NPP Flagbearer and his confessions to the NPP afterwards.

“The moderator collected a donation of GHC 1,000 from Nana Addo. So, after that, he’s going to build Ghana with the NPP. He mortgaged the whole of the Presbytery to the NPP. So, will I be right in saying that if you’re not an NPP member; don’t go to Presbyterian church . . . This same man goes to the pulpit and says that the President doesn’t have sense and nobody arrested him. Nobody locked him up.”

He stated that Rev. Martey somehow betrayed the Presbyterian Church by admitting, after receiving the amount that the NPP is going to build the country.

He wondered if "in the so many years that Presbyterian Church has existed in this country, they haven’t built anything because they were waiting for the NPP in 2016. Edifices like the Akropong Presbyterian Training College which has existed for hundreds of years, trained teachers from all walks of life not just in Ghana, having existed; they were waiting for Nana Addo."

Mr. Twum Boafo also questioned the integrity of Rev. Martey on the Peace Council, stating emphatically that he's surprised at "who put him there. And why he should continue being there…Some of these people have horrible cobwebs in their cardboard.

In his concluding remarks on 'Alhaji and Alhaji', he advised the moderator-elect for the Presbyterian Church not to follow the steps of Rev. Martey, saying “I hope and pray that this new moderator will steer himself away from some of these things…I’m happy for what I read of him. He seems like a moderate person. I hope that he doesn’t go and do a Judas and sell the Presby church to the NPP for a few shekels of silver.
