Amartey: I have to work harder

The Ghana international is eyeing a bigger impact at King Power Stadium after making his first start of the campaign on Saturday.

Leicester City utility player Daniel Amartey wants to build upon his good outing in Saturday's 2-1 triumph over Swansea City in the Premier League.

The Ghanaian started his second English topflight match, filling the central midfield spot left by the departed N'golo Kante, as the Foxes picked their first win of the season.

Amartey, mostly used as a defender by Ghana, joined Leicester in January this year from Danish outfit Copenhagen.

"I enjoy playing everywhere because I have to be ready," he told LCFC TV.

"I can play other positions, so when I get the opportunity I have to do my best.

“When we came into the dressing room, we said we have to win this game before we go with our international teams and we did.

“It’s a good win for our team and I’m very happy to win this game. I enjoyed it but I have to keep on working more and more to help the team."

The 21-year-old, who lasted the entire duration of the game, made five league appearances as Leicester won the topflight last season.
