Music Producer George Forest Is Dead

Renowned Ghanaian Music Producer George Forest is reported dead.

According to a family source who confirmed the sad news to Peacefmonline.com, "George has been battling with sickness for some time now and it's unfortunate he couldn't make it this time. His sickness became very serious during his last days".

The source refused to disclosed the particular disease that took the life of the talented Music Producer adding that the family would release an official statement with all the details.

Meanwhile his publicist Isaac Yaw Owusu told Nydj.com that the Producer who was taken ill and admitted at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi yesterday August 30 2016 died in the wee hours of Wednesday August 31 2016.

“His sickness had been on and off. So we’ll report to the hospital thinking it’s malaria and return home but this time, the unfortunate happened. It’s sad news and as I speak, we are the hospital readying to take him to the morgue,” he said.

George Forest who was based in Ashanti regional capital Kumasi, was known for producing most of the biggest Gospel songs and in some cases, highlife in Ghana.

George Forest aside his contribution to Gospel music is also credited for a number of Highlife hit songs including Nana Acheampong`s historic smash hit "Anka Ebeye Den Na Aye Wo Ya". He has also produced several hits for Gospel musician Cecilia Marfo, Obaapa Christy, Gifty Osei, Ernest Opoku among others.

He won the "Best Sound Engineer of the Year" at Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 2015.
