He also underscored the value of the prevailing peace, security and stability in the nation and urged the Church to "pray for peace ti reign in our homes, in our churches and in our communities".

Mr Amissah-Arthur also urged Ghanaians to conduct themselves in a manner that preserves the peace and stability of the nation, especially as this year's election gets closer.

He said President Mahama, the Government and the NDC are committed to peace and urged all political parties and their functionaries to commit themselves to a peaceful election.

The Vice President also took the opportunity to correct erroeneous impressions created about him in sections of the media last week.

"I am committed to peace. I do not believe in confrontation politics or politics of insults. That is why I need to correct the confusion on a statement I made in Agona Swedru last Friday. I was stating my strong belief that this Government has a superior record of accomplishment and delivery. Therefore if the opposition mentions one achievement of theirs, we will mention twice (or three times) their number to point our achievements, particularly as captured in the Green Book"
