Rahim Ayew Signs For Europa FC In Gibraltar

Ghanaian midfielder Rahim Ayew has signed a two-year contract with Gibraltar giants Europa FC after completing a successful trial.

The 28-year-old, the eldest son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele joins Europa after they were eliminated from this season’s Europa League qualifiers by AIK Stockholm.

Ayew was a member of Ghana’s 23-man squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals and signs for Europa on a free transfer after leaving Ghanaian giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The journeyman player was thought to be rounding-up his playing career after he took-on a coaching role at Nania FC, a Division One League club owned by his father.

Europa becomes the sixth club Ayew has signed for after stints with Nania FC, Eleven Wise, Zamalek, Lierse and Kotoko.
