Grant hints Razak Brimah remains first choice goalkeeper in Black Stars team

Ghana Coach Avram Grant’s has given a strong hint about his preferred choice goalkeeper in the Black Stars team insisting Spain-based Razak Brimah remains his first choice despite recent calls for the 28-year-old to be benched.

Brimah who had a splendid campaign with the Black Stars at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea has been the number one goalkeeper in the team for some time now.

The Cordoba gloves-man has recently come under intense criticism with many believing he has dipped in form.

Many football fans have since called for Adam Kwarasey to retain the number one spot in the Black Stars team after rescinding his decision to quit the National team.

Some pundits have also called for local-based goalkeeper Richard Ofori to be given the opportunity to man the post.

Grant insists Brimah remains his first choice in the goalkeeping department.

“All the goalkeepers are equally good, but Brimah has been with the team for some time now,” he said.

“He was with the team at the Africa Cup and he did well and he has been doing well since.

“Kwarasey was out for some time and he is back now, Ofori is a young goalkeeper and he is the third choice goalkeeper in the team now.”

The Israeli manager is however expected to ring chances in his starting team for tonight’s international friendly against Russia.
