Job Creation Would Be Made An Urgent Priority - PPP

The Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) has pledged to focus priority attention on job creation if given the mandate to govern the nation by voters in the December polls.

Ms. Afua Ansaa Asiedu, the party’s parliamentary candidate for Obuasi West, said it would work with zeal to tackle the growing unemployment among the youth, which had become a huge bother.

She was speaking at the launch of the constituency campaign team in the gold mining town of Obuasi.

She indicated that there would be efficient management of the nation’s resources under the PPP’s watch to end the widespread economic suffering.

Ms. Asiedu promised to do more to support the development of education in the constituency and said no child would be denied education.

Market women, she said, were going to be assisted to expand their economic activities.

Additionally, she would take deliberate steps to promote tourism in the area – transform abandoned structures of AngloGold Ashanti, which had been left to rot into attractive edifices to boost their appeal to tourists.

She rallied the people to work together to keep the environment clean to help reduce diseases.

Mr. Ismael Yakubu Coffie, the Constituency Second Vice Chairman, said the party would ensure that “Ghana works for everybody”.

He therefore asked the people to trust the PPP’s standard-bearer, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, and its parliamentary candidates, with their votes and said they would never regret the decision.

A five-member team to run the election campaign of the party in the area was inaugurated.

The members are Mr. Ismael Yakubu Coffie, Nana Akua Adjeiwaa, Mr. Gabriel Afoakwa, Mr. Anthony B. Essien and Mr. Opoku Agyeman.
