A True Professing Muslim Is Law Abiding- Naseer Khan

The head of organization for Jalsa 2016 Mohamed Naseer Khan has described as not living true to the name of Islam anyone who professes to be a Muslim but is not law abiding. Such a person according to Naseer Khan, does not have love and is not peaceful.

In an interview with Kwaku Owusu Frimpong at 50th Jalsa Salana, Naseer Khan opined peace and love has been the core message of the Islamic religion hence their disapproval of religious extremism in the name of Islam.

Jalsa Salana is the formal annual gathering of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community initiated by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. The first conference started in 1949 thus making this year’s conference the 50th edition.

Naseer Khan attributed the success of the Jalsa to hard work, commitment and prayers of the various volunteers that have worked on the convention.

‘’lots of prayers, first of all, that’s how we start and by the grace of God we’ve got volunteers here, maybe five thousand plus volunteers. We come together and as soon as this conference is finished, maybe within a month we start preparing for the next conference’’, Naseer Khan said.

On his part, Lord Ahmed who is a government minister in the British government and also a member of the Ahmadiya community in the United Kingdom recounted his past Jalsa experiences and how fifty years down the line the conference has been moving from strength to strength.

Lord Ahmed also dismissed the notion that Muslims are extremists. ‘’...the thing is, I have never seen this as a fight between the West and Islam. I mean, I’m a Muslim and I’m of the West, I was born and bred in England. Am I self-conflicted?’’ he quizzed.

More than 38,000 people attended this year’s Jalsa Salana, which took place at Hadeeqatul Mahdi in Alton, Hamspshire in the United Kingdom.
