Unconfirmed reports received say some serial radio callers of the ruling National Democratic Congress have declared a week-long strike. They are angry at what they describe as the President�s slow pace of exacting justice against some alleged former government officials as well as the Government�s inconsistent and conflicting communications structure and what they also describe as the abject neglect of their welfare by the Government and Party executives. The serial callers, who spoke to Citi News on condition of anonymity, expressed grave frustration at what they described as the Mills administration�s knee-jerk reaction to the opposition's pressure. They complain bitterly that both the NDC party and the Government are allowing the main opposition NPP to win the media war with propaganda. According them, there is no coordination between the Director of Communications and Presidential Spokesperson Mahama Ayariga; neither is there coordination between the two gentlemen and the Information Ministry. A situation, they say is adversely effecting the party and the government�s image. The serial callers are also accusing the Government of allowing the opposition NPP to have a field day by taking advantage of the inconsistencies of the Government�s information and Communication structure. They cited a recent instance where Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa told the media that the resignation of Dr. Sipa Yankey and Amadu Seidu as a result of the Mabey and Johnson bribery saga was upon advice from President John Mills. An explanation, which contrasted claims by Mr Mahama Ayariga that the two ministers resigned by themselves. They believe there is a cold war between Mr Ayariga and Mr Koku Anyidoho at the Castle which could spell doom and end up worsening the woes of the Government. Beside these complaints, the serial callers are also angry that President John Mills has been so lenient on former Government officials who have been cited for corruption during the Kufuor administration. They say the party foot soldiers are disenchanted and disillusioned due to neglect of their welfare by the Government. They claim persons who did virtually little or nothing for the party have rather been rewarded at the expense of the hard working foot soldiers who walked the trenches working for the party�s victory. The callers expect President John Mills or Vice President, John Mahama or some party elders to approach them as soon as possible over their concerns.
