Woman Pulls Out Of Marriage After Fianc Says Her Dog Will Be A Problem

A woman has decided against marrying her man after he told her to get rid of her dog.

Karishma Walia, who lives in Gurgaon, India, had arranged to marry a respectable and well-to-do chap from Delhi.

But when he told Karishma to get rid of her beloved hound she let him go.

The pair discussed their arranged marriage for some time, and both parents were keen on the match.

But Karishma’s decision was final. Rightly so.

A friend of hers from Bangalore, her home city, tweeted a snapshot of the would-be couple’s exchange:

It’s fair to say that the guy didn’t take Karishma’s comments very well at all.

“I am sorry to say this,” he wrote in response, “but please marry to dog in that case”.

Karishma told him that he didn’t need to be arrogant and that their relationship, clearly, hadn’t worked out.

“I didn’t dislike dogs, but now I do,” the shunned fiance said.

“I am sorry for being rude. It’s your life and you have the right to do what you like.”

The man went on and concluded that “it’s good to have pets but not when they come in between your life”.

Karishma explained her decision to BuzzFeed India : “My mom thought he’s an excellent match because he’s good-looking and well-off.

“There was a lot of family pressure, and they still think I did the wrong thing by raising the concern about my dog.

“He would say things like ‘family should be a priority and not career’.

“I gave up when he commented about my dog. I don’t know why my family still thinks he’s an eligible bachelor.”

The dog definitely sounds a better companion for now.
