Dr. Nduom Is A Big Disgrace - Allotey Jacobs

Central Regional Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has labeled Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom as a "big disgrace" to the country.

Speaking in an interview on Peace News Bulletin at 12 noon, Allotey Jacobs heavily censured the flagbearer of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Dr. Nduom for making disparaging remarks about the NDC.

Dr. Nduom is reported to have accused the members of the NDC of making merry over the demise of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

"Mills was our kinsman and he became the President. Some people criticized and attacked him until he died. And some of the NDC people, themselves, thanked God that Mills died. Is that not strange? And after his death, they came back here to tell us to replace him with another person from the Central Region.

" . . they go about provoking us that if Mills had not died, the NDC wouldn't be in government today . . . It appears as though they deliberately pushed him to the seat so they can commit their wrongs behind him," he said.

To him, the NDC somehow was expectant of the late President's death in a bid to retain the party in government.

Allotey Jacobs registered his displeasure with the comments made by Dr. Nduom, stressing that he (Dr. Nduom) has denigrated the residents in the Western Region.

He stated that the statements by the PPP flagbearer were unfortunate.

Allotey believed Dr. Nduom made such remarks in order to be acclaimed as a Statesman but to him, the PPP Flagbearer should have allowed his party workers to make those comments because "such statements should be made by children".

“It is the most unfortunate statement coming from Kwesi Nduom who wants to be called or he wants to be seen as a Statesman coming from the Central Region. He is a big disgrace . . . He should have allowed his party workers to make such comments and not him, Kwesi Nduom.

"He is a very good friend of mine. How can he say this? It is the biggest lie. Kwesi Nduom shouldn’t have said this at all. I think it was a slip . . . It’s most unfortunate.”

In a quick riposte to Allotey's remarks about Dr. Nduom, Richmond Keelson, Spokesperson for PPP flagbearer and founder also said during an interview on the news bulletin that he believes Dr. Nduom was "only pointing out the hypocrisy" in the NDC administration.

He said the PPP flagbearer only echoed the words of the NDC founder, former President Rawlings who he believes gave credence to the statements by Dr. Nduom.
