VEEP's Public Lecture A Hoax...NPP 'Cloned' His Twitter Account! - Gov't

Claims that Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur was preparing to respond to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's 'state of Ghana's economy' at the National Theatre on Thursday September 15, 2016, has been refuted by leading government officials.

The revelation comes after an announcement was circulated on various social media platforms that the vice president cancelled his planned Public Lecture which was expected to be a response to an earlier lecture delivered by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a running mate to Nana Akufo Addo on the economy.

In the said announcement which flooded various social media platforms, Chairman of the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) and former Presidential Advisor, Ato Ahwoi was supposedly expected to chair the Public Lecture.

But the said report has been invalidated by government spokespersons.

James Agyenim-Boateng, a Special Aide to the Vice President, first indicted Peacefmonline for "falling for the NPP's propaganda".

"The Vice-President has no public lecture planned
," he simply told the Editor.

Deputy Spokesperson for the NDC's 2016 Campaign Team, Felix Kwakye Ofosu followed suit with a WhatsApp message asserting that the Vice-President's twitter account was "cloned" by the NPP.

"...the story about the Veep and a lecture is FALSE. I see that Peacefmonline has fallen for the NPP's dirty propaganda. No such event was EVER planned. They cloned his Twitter account and put out that lie," he revealed.

Peacefmonline.com is reliably informed that a tweet from the Vice-President’s twitter handle attributing the cancellation of the public lecture to the light rains experienced in Accra Thursday morning, was a hoax.

Due to the Rains this morning we have decided to call off my Public Lecture. A new date will be communicated in the coming weeks”, the malicious tweet indicated.

On Sunday, Vice-President, Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur  gave the strongest indication that he was arming himself to respond to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who chronicled a tall list of issues backed with empirical data to show that President John Mahama’s government had been the worst government for Ghana’s economy.

Speaking at an NDC rally in Ashaiman, the Vice-President stated “at the appropriate time, we shall respond in full measure to all the lies that have been told; at the appropriate time, we shall correct him and teach him the things that he doesn’t know but thinks he knows.”

But deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Koku Anyidoho says the Vice President will not waste his time on someone who lacks credibility and has failed to provide the remaining 90 percent evidence over claims that the register was bloated with foreign names.

''That is not true. I ran my checks yesterday and the flyer is a hoax. The Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur will not respond to Bawumia. Bawumia has a lot of question mark(s) on his credibility, and so i don't think the Vice President will respond to someone who has a question mark on his credibility. Bawumia has a lot to do in terms of redeeming his image...Bawumia didn't hold a lecture, it was an event to churn out false figures.''
