Veep's "Hoax" Public Lecture Was A Fabrication By The NPP - Kobby Fiagbe

NDC Communicator Kobby Fiagbe has accused the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) of masterminding the fabricated reports that the Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur was preparing to organize a public lecture.

There were claims that the Vice President was getting ready to respond to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's "state of Ghana's economy" lecture at the National Theatre on Thursday, September 15, 2016.

After the claims had gone viral on social media and some other news portals including the print media over 3 days, the leadership of the NDC has refuted the claims.

A Special Aide to the Vice President, James Agyenim-Boateng told Editor of Peacefmonline.com that the "the Vice President has no public lecture planned".

Deputy Spokesperson for the NDC's 2016 Campaign Team, Felix Kwakye Ofosu also discounted the claims, asserting that the Vice President's twitter account was "cloned".

According to Kobby Fiagbe, the party earlier decided to ignore and refused to comment on the reports when it began to spread across the media platform.

But in an attempt to exercise forethought, the party's leadership had to expose the lies of the NPP.

He told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that the Veep's lecture announcement was the "creation of people we suspect to be in the NPP. The fake announcement of the lectures was dropped about three days ago. We saw it but decided that the best way to do this thing is to ignore it."

He added that it was a misconception that was allowed to circulate over time and this is why some members of the ruling party even bought into it and propounded the claims as true.

" . . maybe, that was a miscalculation because it looks like some of our own people might have bought into it . . .”

Kobby Fiagbe stated emphatically that just as refuted by leading government officials, the lecture was nothing but a hoax.
