Video: Neglected Railway Station At Asante Bekwai Turns Into Farm Land

Many government institutions have been neglected to rot in this country, and the railway industry hasn’t been spared.

In the early and late nineties, the railway industry was one of the country major mode of transportation of good from the forest belts to the coast. Today, the railway service in Ghana is not something good to write home about.

The Railway services was active and functioning in the nineties in the areas like; Accra, Nsawam, Koforidua, Praso, Konongo, Kumasi, Bekwai, Obuasi, Dunkwaw, Huni Valley, Prestea, Sekondi Takoradi, Tarkwa, Fosu, Oda, Kade and other areas where minerals were mined.

Today, Ghana’s railway lines are in shambles and GN media would first tackle the Asante Bekwai railway station where portions of the rails are being hacked away by scrap dealers.

ATV interaction with some residents from the area shows how many people regret living in a country called Ghana.
