Businessman Jailed for Living the High Life in Executive Airport Lounge For 3 Weeks

The executive lounges of most airports are extremely posh–with comfortable sofas, free foods, exceptionally clean shower and toilet facilities as well as certain free goodies. A stay in some of these lounges can rival top hotel stays.

A Malaysian businessman has been jailed for living the high life in a Singapore airport lounge–taking showers and sleeping there for 3 weeks.

The man, Raejali Buntut, 33, reportedly “slept on comfortable seats, enjoyed breakfasts, lunches and dinners of his choice, watched TV and used the showers after missing a flight.”

For the three weeks, he was able to do this by using fake boarding passes, which he forged on his laptop and sent to his phone via email–to fool airport staff.

Eventually, staff at Changi airport became suspicious of him and he was arrested. But that was after he had forged and used 31 boarding passes to aid his stay.

Buntut was accused of ‘blatantly lawless behaviour’–and he was charged with forgery, following which he was jailed for two weeks.
