Unemployment Cannot Totally Leave Economy Joseph Ade Coker Laments

Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Ade Coker has stated that unemployment challenges as we are experiencing now “cannot totally leave the Ghanaian economy”.

This according to him is due to the fast rate of population growth against job creation.

He said there is a  need for the youth especially not to concentrate on ‘white collar jobs’ but also other sectors of employment that can last forever using their God given talent to work.

He added that it is for the purpose of creating more jobs that incited President John Dramani Mahama and his administration to lay down good foundations for technical and vocational institutes.

Ade Coker questioned members of the New Patriotic Party [NPP] to prove their claims against this government not getting finances to pay workers in the government sector should the NDC remain in power.

“If that is what they have predicted where would they also get the money to pay workers should they win the elections?” he asked.

Speaking on UTV’s Tuesday edition of ‘Adekye Nsroma’ show,  Ade Coker asserted that salaries of teachers since 2008 when the NDC took over government has moved from being equivalent of 10 bags of cement to 50 bags.
