Akufo-Addo Will Jail Mahama's Appointees If Elected - NDC Reg. Chairman

Eastern Regional Chairman of the NDC, Bismarck Tawiah Boateng is urging party members to work assiduously to retain the party in power to save government appointees from going to jail.

According to him, majority of Mahama's appointees will be jailed if the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) wins the December 7 elections.

Mr. Tawiah Boateng made the comment while addressing some aggrieved NDC branch executives at a reconciliation meeting held at the residence of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Akuapem North at Akropong in the Eastern region.

The angry footsoldiers had vowed to campaign against the ruling party for neglecting them to wallow in abject poverty.

But in his bid to get them to rescind their decision, the NDC Chairman used Nana Akufo-Addo as his bargaining chip.

He stressed that, it will be in the interest of the Akuapem North NDC executives to keep their own party in power even in their poverty.

Mr. Tawiah Boateng suggested that, Nana Akufo-Addo as an Attorney General in the erstwhile Kufuor administration was able to jail top NDC members like Dr. Sipa Yankey, Ibrahim Adams, Kwame Peprah, E.T. Mensah and many others and hence still had the capacity to jail most of Mahama's appointees when elected President.

“Nana Akufo-Addo was able to jail all these big men in NDC as an Attorney General so just imagine what will happen to us if he becomes President”, he stated.

The NDC Eastern Regional Chairman admonished the executives to put the interest of the party first and forge ahead in unity for a resounding victory in the December polls.
