Kojo Fianoo Blast Journalist For Match Fixing Claims

AshanatiGold Chief Executive Officer who doubles as the Ghana League Clubs Association’s president Kojo Fianoon, has condemned sports journalist for not helping promote the league but rather discussing about AshanaGold Kotoko, playing a fix-match.

Kotoko defender Samuel Kyere has made a shocking revelation that the club’s penultimate league match against the Len clay team in the weekd 29 was fixed.

The match ended in a cricket score line, 5-3 in favour of the home team AshanatiGold who failed to defend the title they won last year of which the result help AshanatiGold to survive relegation.

According to the tough talkative football administrator, the sports journalist must concentrate on congratulating the 16 premier league clubs for playing a whole season without any sponsorship and league champions Wa All Stars for winning the league instead of talking about the two regional big clubs playing a fixed match.

“Why don’t you journalist go to Spain and asked Barcelona why they have been scoring other team 7 goals, do you called that as a fixed match? Players and teams in Ghana struggle to prepare and play their heart out and so the journalist must stop that put me down.” He said.

“I expect the sports journalist to ask why the pass 4-5 years clubs from the northern and Asante region have been winning the league, Aduana Stars, Chelsea, Kotoko, AshGold and now Wa All Stars, is the kind of reportage we need in the league to promote us and not the negative reportage about AshanatiGold/ Kotoko match fixing claims.”Fianoo emphasized.

“AshGold was beaten by Liberty a heavy defeat, scoring 5-1 in the second leg tie at Dansoman, was that match a fixed match? He asked.

Fianoo believes sports journalist are not asking the right people the right question and if there is any truth or evidence to the fact that Kotoko’s Samauel Kyere’s claim that Kotoko AshGold week 29 fixture was a fixed match and if the football association ethic committee is anything to go by, the truth will be made known when Samuel Kyere faces the panel to prove his claims.
