The Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Ekow Badu-Woode, has called on religious leaders to allow democracy to triumph.  He says religious leaders have a role to play in the sustenance of democratic culture in the country and must therefore not attempt to interfere with the will of the people during elections.

Apostle Badu-Woode made the call when Vice President K. B. Amissah-Arthur visited the Asokwa branch of Pentecost International Worship Centre in Kumasi on Sunday.

He said religious leaders must not only respect the constitutional system of governance but must also refrain from imposing their will on the people. 

Apostle Badu-Woode said voting is a divine way by which God appoints leaders in both the Church and the nation.

Apostle Badu-Woode also singled out Mr Amissah-Arthur for praise when he described him as a role model for the youth and “worthy of admiration”.

The apostle also said Mr Amissah-Arthur is “an asset in leadership who allows his faith to manifest in his public life”.

For his part, the Vice President urged the people to ensure a peaceful elections and to give off their best at all times.
