The New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Sunday said it would leave no stone unturned to win the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary polls.

This would be followed by the restoration of the  economy on the path of rapid growth, development, progress and prosperity.

The Party said the country is in dire straits and it would take the competence of its crop of experts and patriots to transform the economy and truly change the lives of Ghanaians for the better.

At well a attended launching of the Party’s 2016 Manifesto, which was followed by a rally at the forecourt of the Trade Fair Centre in La in Accra, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the Party’s Flag bearer said God will win victory for the NPP to change the lives of the people and transform Ghana.

He was emphatic that the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) slogan of changing live and transforming Ghana was borrowed from the NPP and the track record showed that the NPP performed far better than the NDC when compared with their terms of reign.

Nana Akufo Addo maintained that the “battle still remains the Lord’s” and God would surely claim victory for the NPP come the night of December 7, when the polls would be over.

“We are here to serve Ghana; and I will continue to plead with Ghanaians to give me the nod,” He said.

He said he and the NPP would not sit down to see the fortunes of the nation dwindling through mismanagement of the economy.

“I will never disappoint you…I am encouraged by the zeal of supporters of these great elephant party. I promise to create prosperity, progress and a society that have equal opportunities for all. I promise you incorruptible leadership,” he told the ecstatic mammoth crowd.

Nana Akufo Addo assured Ghanaians that the Party had competent men and women to provide wealth to the benefit of all.

He urged the electorate to give him and the NPP parliamentary candidates the nod in the December 7 elections.

He assured Ghanaians that the NPP stands for peace and would not be the cause of any agitation or upheaval at the polls and urged Ghanaians to vote peacefully to give President John Dramani Mahama good bye at the end of the polls.

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor told the supporters that the Party’s Manifesto was an indication that the party had the people to get the country out of its present economic crisis, calling on Ghanaians to give Nana Akufo Addo the chance to lead the country.

“He (Nana Akufo Addo) has the right team to lead the country into prosperity and I urge you all party faithful to work tirelessly to ensure that our great party leads this country to turn things around for the better,” he said.

Dr Bawumia on his part chastised the ruling NDC Government for incompetently managing the economy of Ghana, even when they had much more resources than what the NPP had when there were in power.

He said the NPP had only GH₵ 20 Billion with which it established a number of critical social and economic interventions including the National Health Insurance Scheme, the capitation Grant, the Free maternal health care, the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) among others.

He said the NDC with GH₵ 240 billion  had collapsed the economy and left everything in disarray.

“Everything under the NDC is Wahala,” Dr Bawumia said to an explosive response from the crowd that had swarm the rally grounds that extended from the La T-Junction to the La Palmwine Junction, with Party paraphernalia showing the symbolic elephant in the background colours of blue, red and white.

Mr Alan Kyeremateng, a leading member of Party urged the  electorate to examine the hardship unleashed on them by the NDC and vote it out of power and bring the NPP in to create the right conditions for economic growth and prosperity for all Ghanaians.

Other party functionaries including Acting party Chairman Freddie Blay, Acting General Secretary John Boadu, and some parliamentary candidates as Vincent Odotei for La dadekotopon, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Ablekuma West and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Assin Central took turns in addressing the rally, with a call on the party’s supporters to maintain vigilance during and after the polls.

The side attraction to the Manifesto launch was the drinking of kalyppo fruit drink.

There were also women and children of school going age wearing school uniforms that flaunted the free senior high school policy that the NPP promises to implement when it gets the nod.

Other interesting sights were the cacophony of thousands of vuvuzelas, whistles and trumpets and the revving of motor bike engines by party fans.

The milling crowd in a prayerful mood sang “Awarade Kasa” by Cindy Thompson which gave the NPP its victory 2000.

Other entertainment artist that endorsed the would-be presidency of Nana Akufo Addo are Diana Asamoah, Kwabena Kwabena, A Plus among others.

And when Dr Bawumia was introduced, the crowed went gaga as Shata Wale’s ‘Kakai’ tune blared on the public address system.
