One District One Factory' Does Not Make Sense - Prof Ahwoi

Local government expert and a founding member of the National Democratic Congress Professor Kwamena Ahwoi averse that the NPP's proposal of one factory one district is misprioritised. Professor Ahwoi took his time to question the feasibility of the proposal.

To him the extension of electricity, water, building of roads, schools, and hospitals are necessary foundations for the building of a workable system of factories. "Without roads, electricity, water and all that President Mahama is building across the country how would factories work?", he quizzed.

Again he wondered how the proposal would be executed in reality when places like Tema already have over 400 factories. Does that mean Tema will receive a factory too?

Speaking at the NDC's campaign rally in Brosankro in the Tano South Constituency of the Brong Ahafo Region the seasoned academic and politician also questioned the New Patriotic Party's basis for criticising the NDC's appointment of young people into government.

He referred the audience to history when Dr Kwame Nkrumah, President Rawlings and even himself were at the helm of national affairs at their youth.

It is therefore unfounded for them to keep looking down on the NDC for being a youthful party.

Amidst loud cheers he spoke in support of President Mahama and Dr Hanna Louisa Bissiw calling on the people to ensure that on December 7th they will turn out massively to vote and retain them in the Presidency and Parliament respectively.

The campaign continues to several other parts of the Brong Ahafo Region.
