Prez Mahama Gives Assessment Of His Performance

President John Dramani Mahama has given an upbeat assessment of his government’s performance, saying, strong foundation had been laid to anchor the growth of the economy.

He indicated that a lot had been achieved in the first four years under his watch and that the people were going to see tremendous improvement in their living conditions, if returned to power in the general coming election.

President Mahama was addressing a political rally in Asamankese as part of his six-day election campaign tour of the Eastern Region.

He gave the assurance that his second four-year term office would focus on livelihood empowerment of the population.
He also repeated his promise to revive many of the collapsed factories built by Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, to create more job openings.

Already two of such factories – Komenda Sugar and Kumasi Shoe factories had been reactivated.

President Mahama spoke of plans to expand the Tema Harbor and transform it into the biggest sea port in the West African sub-region, adding that, an agreement to that effect would soon be signed by the government.

He told the voters that the future could only be bright and rallied them to vote massively to renew the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) mandate, come December 7.
