Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Haruna Iddrisu, has officially inaugurated the Ghana Association of Private Employment Agencies (GHAPEA).

The association is licence and registered by government of Ghana to recruit Ghanaians seeking to work abroad especially in the Middle East legally.

In an address to members and the media at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) yesterday, the minister gave a 24-hour ultimatum to the Chief Labour Office at the Labour Department under his ministry to publish in all the state national  dailies names of legally registered private employment agencies to enable the general public to deal with the right agencies.

To do this, the minister called on the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) to strengthen security at the boarders to eliminate human trafficking and illegal immigration.

He cautioned that government will deal ruthlessly with anyone who will flaunt the laws governing migration.
