Daily Guide: JJs Man Buried

Adam Seini Manso, alias Tony, a cell phone repairer who was killed by unknown gunmen in an attack last Sunday has been buried. He wife was also shot in the attack. Both the deceased and his wife were reportedly rushed to the Tema General Hospital (TGH) where Manso was pronounced dead. His wife is still receiving treatment at the health facility. Large crowds of mourners, mostly members of the Dagomba community in Ashaiman, had earlier gone to TGH morgue where they received the body. They observed a prayer, led by Ashaman Deputy Chief Imam, Sheikh Mustapha Haruna, in accordance with the deceased Islam beliefs. A friend of the deceased explained to Daily that they all agreed to meet the premises of the hospital where Manso was first taken after the accident. Manso was reported to have been gunned down at the entrance to his home when he opened the front door upon a knock. About 7 bullets reportedly entered his body. Manso first gained fame when he was allegedly attacked on March 25, 2004, by former President Rawlings at Ashaiman in the heat of campaign for national elections. He later told the Daily Guide that the former president dragged him into his car and assaulted him with the accusation that he was disrespectful. The deceases torn shirt was later deposited with the police for further investigations, compelling the then spokesman for the former President, Emmanuel Victor Smith, to later apologise for the accident.
