NDCs Target In E/R Is Unrealistic Lecturer

Political Science Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon, Dr. Isaac Owusu Mensah, has stated that some targets set by some Ghanaian politicians were not realistic as the country gears toward the 2016 general elections.

Dr. Owusu Mensah speaking in an interview with Kwabena Obeng Akrofi on Ark FM in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region yesterday outlined three ways which a political
party can use to win elections.

“There are three issues if you want to win elections: You have to strengthen your strongholds, make sure you get maximum votes from your strongholds and make sure you reduce your opponent’s strongholds,” he divulged.

He further stated that winning elections may not come on a silver platter. According to him, there are so many works which are needed to be in place to ensure someone’s victory.

Dr. Owusu Mensah disclosed that the Ghanaian electorate are becoming more enlightened—so many of them will vote based on issues and track records of the various political parties.
