KP Boateng Must Be Given The Chance To Explain Himself - Augustine Ahinful

Former Ghanaian international Augustine Ahinful wants Kevin-Prince Boateng to be given an opportunity to explain himself after his alleged misconduct in the Black Stars team which led to his suspension.

The Las Palmas midfielder is on suspension after a supposed verbal assault on former Ghana Coach Kwesi Appiah during the team’s campaign at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The former AC Milan and Schalke O4 ace has since been overlooked from the senior National team.

Boateng recently revealed his intentions to play in another World Cup with the Black Stars having represented Ghana at the 2010 and 2014 mundial.

Augustine Ahinful is calling on authorities to hand the former Portsmouth man an opportunity to tell his side of the story after the player refused claims he was rude to former Coach Kwesi Appiah.

“What he is saying is that he won’t refuse a call-up to the National team if given an opportunity,” Ahinful told Asempa FM.

“I think we need to be fair by hearing his side of the story too. He claimed he was not involved in any misconduct.

“So I think we should give him the opportunity for him to explain himself. For me I do see him to be guilty because we have not evidence of what happened. It is just news we all heard.”

The player returned to the Black Stars prior to team’s qualification to the 2014 FIFA World Cup having announced his retirement from the National team a year after gaining global recognition for featuring for Ghana at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
