Let Us Support Winner Of December 7 Polls

Ghanaians have been urged to put their strength behind the winner of the December 7 presidential election, irrespective of their political affiliations.

That, according to the Chairman of the Intimate Club, a wing of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Mr Theophilus N. Djanie Magoah, would help in promoting the socio-economic development of the country.

“So far as we are all one people, and one nation with a common destiny, we have to support the winner to push Ghana forward in order to get more projects and development, for everybody to get a job to do,” he said.

The call was contained in a press release sign by Mr Magoah yesterday in Accra.

Ghana ultimate winner

He said a win for any political party was a victory for Ghana, hence, the need to support whoever wins in the forthcoming general election.

He noted that this year’s poll was very crucial and, therefore, political leaders must advise their supporters to remain calm after casting their vote.

Mr Magoah added, “Since the Fourth Republic began, six general elections have been held in Ghana without any serious problem. That means that we Ghanaians have proven to the whole world that we have understood democracy in Ghana and Africa as a whole.”

Abide by the laws

He also urged political party leaders and their supporters to abide by the laws governing the county before, during and after the polls to avoid any chaos in the country.

He called on political parties not to print any ballot documents or use “machomen” to harass their opponents at the polling stations.

He added that the parties should discourage their supporters from blocking roads in order not to cause reactions from opponents.

He also encouraged the citizenry to report anybody or group of persons who would frown on the laws to the Police Service for the appropriate action to be taken.
