APC Errors Shoot From 2 To 95; Ayariga Hints At Supreme Court Return

All People's Congress has revealed the EC has asked it to make 95 corrections on its presidential nomination forms within 24 hours if it can stand for the 2016 presidential elections.

According to APC General Secretary Razak Kojo Opoku, this is an astronomical jump from two errors which formed the basis of the party's disqualification.

Several political parties are struggling to meet a 24 hour deadline set by the Supreme Court in its orders to the EC to allow 12 disqualified presidential candidates to correct their mistakes.

Their mistakes according to the EC merited their disqualification announced last month. The EC at a press conference in October revealed the specific errors that flouted the Public Elections Regulations (CI 94).

For the APC, the EC said it has identified two mistakes. The APC proceeded to court to challenge their disqualification.

The Supreme Court had to finally settle the matter asking the EC to allow the candidates to make corrections within 24 hours.

"All of us were happy in APC" Razak said. But to their shock, the EC has picked out 93 more errors it wants corrected.

He described the directive as "shambolic" and attempts at deploying "ambush tactics" aimed at kicking the APC out of the 2016 presindential race.
