NDC Supporters Were Only Singing When Nana Addo's Security Fired Shots - Anim Piesie

A member of the Communications team of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Anim Piesie, has condemned Nana Addo's Security detail over their clash with some NDC supporters at the NPP Flagbearer's Nima residence.

Narrating the incident on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Anim Piesie dismissed reports that the attack was initiated by supporters of the ruling party who were embarking on a health walk in the vicinity.

According to him, the security officers of Nana Addo spontaneously fired shots to disperse the NDC procession without any provocation from the supporters.

Contrary to reports that the supporters hurled stones into the house of Nana Addo which called for the confrontation between them and the security personnel, Anim Piesie recounted that the supporters were "chanting songs" as they embarked on the health walk.

The songs had a telling effect on the security who responded by firing gunshots, he stated.

“What happened is that when you are embarking on health walk, you sing songs; which is normal. Everybody does it during political campaign or something. It’s normal. But some people in the house thought that the songs were an attack on them and so decided to terrorize the people, and pull guns on them. There were no gunshots from the crowd.”

He added that there was no provocation from the supporters as they went for the health walk around Nana Addo's residence.
