BNI Denies Conducting Research Projecting Akufo Addo As Winner

The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has denied conducting an election research that projected opposition leader, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as winner of next weeks’ presidential election.

The Daily Statesman newspaper on Monday November 28, 2016, published that it has come across a latest research by the BNI that said Nana Addo will win the election “one-touch” with a clear majority in Parliamentary.

According the newspaper, the BNI's research concluded that Nana Akufo-Addo would annex 51.90 per cent with President John Dramani Mahama getting eight per cent less.

But in a statement, the BNI said: “The story, headlined - BNI tells Mahama: People are voting for change," was false.

“We wish to place on record that the BNI has not conducted or commissioned any such poll. The story is false and must be disregarded,” the BNI’s statement said.
