Nii Noi Nortey's Name Struck Out From NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has struck out the name of Nii Noi Nortey from the party's register for going independent in the 2016 Parliamentary elections.

It could be recalled that Nii Noi Nortey's candidature was contested in court by his contender Philip Addison after the former won the bid to contest the Parliamentary seat.

He lost out to his contender following deep-seated division, after the latter (Philip Addison) was elected the party's Parliamentary candidate for the December polls in a re-run.

The NPP, in a press statement, indicated that in accordance with Article 3 of the constitution, Nii Noi Nortey ceases "to be a member of the party and your name has therefore been struck out from the list of the registered members of the party.

Accordingly, you are requested to desist from using the name, colours and symbol of the party in your campaign and also to handover any party property in your custody."
