The premises of House of Ezra Church at Asonomaso in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Regional was a scene of cry and bewailment after over 400 old women embarked on intensive prayers to seek spiritual intervention for the opposition New Patriotic Party.
With their hands on their heads and crying profusely, the old women, aged between 80-90 years, prayed for the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party and the entire country, asking God to listen to the general call for change of leadership in the country.
Joined by the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi and a member of the Regional Campaign Team, Aunty Beatrice, the women also asked God Almighty to deal ruthlessly with anyone who attempts to manipulate the upcoming elections.
The spiritual exercise was led by the Head Pastor of the Church, Rev. Kofi Amponsah.
The women, some of whom could barely walk unless they were helped, said they would stop at nothing in ensuring that the will of God prevails in the country.
Other targets of the prayer included the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Madam Charlotte Osei and her officials, as well as the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
They prayed that God should protect the EC Chairperson and prevent her from doing anything that can mar the integrity of the elections.
