Fear Grips Agbogbloshie Youth Over Small Arms Display

The New Patriotic Party Youth Association at Old Fadama, (OFNPPYA) has raised concerns over their security in the community in the run up to the December 7th general elections with regard to allegations that the member of Parliament for Odododiodioo Nii Lante Vanderpuye is distributing AK47 assault rifles and short guns to some thugs at Agbogbloshie to cause mayhem in the upcoming election in the constituency.

Addressing the media at Agbogbloshie, Mr. Alhassan Muaz revealed that in 2009 four of their family members were killed and several others injured in political violence and no effort has been made by the security services to arrest the perpetrators of these heinous crimes.

"Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has not repented from his old ways and as we speak there is available information that he is sponsoring thugs with ammunitions just to foment trouble and cause mayhem during voting on December 7. We are reliably informed that he has given out 25 AK47 assault rifles and 5 short guns to his thugs", they asserted.

"Again, the weapons were delivered by Nii Ayi a.k.a Bruno and Mawuko, a self-professed informant. We chanced on this information because some of the guns Nii Lantey Vanderpuye acquired were malfunctioning and he took them out for repairs", they stated.

they have therefore called on the Inspector General Of Police,( IGP) John Kudalor to provide enough security to supervise the elections in Agbogbloshie on voting day.

They urged the people of Old Fadama to come out in their numbers on 7th December to cast their vote without fear of attacks ." If the Police fail to protect us then we can do everything humanly possible to protect ourselves. We can promise that any trouble causer will not see the moon on 7th December since we are guided by the this quote that, 'If you want peace, prepare for war".
