You Are Not Disenfranchised . . . You Can Vote On Dec 7 - EC To Special Voters

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has assured special voters who were not able to vote both on Thursday, December 1 and Sunday, December 4, that they can vote on December 7.

"You cannot get everything 100%; there will be shortfalls . . . there is nothing like blame-game. Your names will be in the register on Wednesday, December 7. It is never true that automatically special voters names have been removed from the system. Once you were not able to vote and your name was not in the special voters' list, your name will be in the main register," Eric Kofi Dzakpasu, Communication Director, Electoral Commission, told Kwami Sefa Kayi in an interview on Monday morning.

Special Voting exercise was rocked with numerous cases of missing names of voters on December 1, forcing political parties and the Commission to agree on a second day for the exercise. The story of the second day which was on Sunday, December 4, 2016 was no different from the first day as more people could still not find their names.
