Ghana Stock Exchange Begins Week on Weak Note

The main index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), the All-Share Index, opened the week down on Monday, losing 253.31 points to close at 5,652.91 points. Change for the year closed the session at -45.81 per cent. Traded volumes opened at 425,273 shares, mainly on the strength of a block trade in Ghana Commercial Bank shares. GCB alone sold 370,500 shares. Market capitalisation at the close of session now stands at GH�15,449.48 million. On the broader market, there were four price changes � three negative and one positive. State Insurance Company (SIC) lost GH�0.01 at GH�0.30, Ecobank Ghana (EBG) went down by GH�0.04 at GH�2.90 and Ecobank Transnational Incorporated closed down at GH�0.02 at GH�0.15. The only gainer was Fan Milk Limited (FML), which appreciated by GH�0.01 at GH�4.58.
